FROM JASON...
I think one of the biggest misconceptions out there is that exceptional performance is reserved for a small subset of people. That if you aren't already crushing it you somehow missed the opportunity to achieve like that.

Nothing could be further from the truth! When I started my professional career I was in awe of the top earners on my first sales team. They seemed to have it all figured out; they were beating everyone else 2 to 1 as far as revenue was concerned and even crazier it felt like they didn't have to work nearly as hard to get that. That's where my obsession with high performance started! I studied these guys, not in a creepy stalker way, but in a 'how can I borrow a little of what they have' sort of way. The biggest mistake I made way back then was not actually asking for help, like somehow I should already know how to do this. One day, Sara (she was one of the best) got tired of hearing me struggle through call after call, and she ran me through a makeshift boot camp. That day everything changed!

What I learned from Sara, and Jeremy, and Justin was that each of them was very different, but what they had in common were three things and those three things separated them (and soon after US) from the rest of the pack. I started to look outside of the corporate setting at other high performers and I found that they, not surprisingly, also shared these 3 traits.

I've used that awakening every day since to create success in my life, in the lives of others, and in companies and organizations who want to level up. It's simple and it's repeatable. I know, because I've done it countless times. So can you!

Having a family is honestly one of the greatest pieces of my story. My entire life completely changed the day I found out I was going to be a dad! We are so blessed to have two amazing children that we are so, so proud of.

It's funny how life gives you what you need exactly when you need it! I see it often, and experienced it personally, but when it's just you and your spouse the stakes are different. Sure, you don't want to let them down, but there's this unspoken thing that's like 'no matter what happens we'll get through it together.' It's an us against the world approach that my wife and I had, and still have today and the best way I can describe it is a relationship safety net.

But when my kids entered the scene... it was like a switch was flipped, subconsciously, and my WHY, the thing that underpins everything that I do, got bigger! My kids and my family alone are not my WHY (I teach this, but that alone is not enough), it's what I want for them and for us and the reasons I want that for us that motivate me to be at my absolute best. Nobody is at their best all the time though, and I find, personally, when that's the case it's my family that helps to refocus and re-center me. They're my secret weapon and I have been infinitely more successful because of their love and support.

I don't know what that is for you. Tons of people without families and attachment are high-performers, but what we all have in common is something bigger than us, or different than us, that pushes us, makes us question, makes us re-evaluate, and helps us to unlock that next level. I'd love to know what that thing is for you! If you don't know, I'd love to help you find it!
Excellence is not a skill, it's an attitude. It's the pursuit of excellence that creates the greatest successes!
